Casinos are famous for their great selections of food. Sometimes, people will go to Las Vegas just to take part in their legendary buffets, and never even play within the casino. This is unfortunate since they are missing out on a lot of excitement, but it’s understandable; casinos have some of the most diverse and finest food to choose from in the entire world. Where else can you find a Hawaiian Luau with hundreds of people one night, and a 1950s style burger joint with an Elvis lookalike performing the next, all at the same place?
Centering a casino vacation around your culinary interests is actually pretty easy. Most casinos advertise the type of dining that they offer, complete with full menus, on their websites. Luckily, there is a type of food out there for every type of taste you can imagine. Do you like fast food? There are plenty of burger and hot dog joints within casinos. What about five star cuisine, prepared by a Cordon Bleu trained chef? There are casinos that have this, too. Anything you can imagine in between exists, as well. There are seafood places, gourmet steak restaurants, and cafe-style eateries. Often, these can be found within the same casino, even, if you go to a large scale one. And in a city like Vegas, it’s only a short walk before you come across the type of food you are interested in.
One thing that you won’t find advertised at a casino is the food choices that are offered at independent restaurants. There are always restaurants stationed out around casinos that aim at the stragglers–those that want to get away from the crowded casino dining areas and take a break for a bit. These places can be hit or miss, but most are usually really good. You will usually find food choices that are not carried within the casino, too, which make these even more attractive. So, if your favorite casino has just upscale eateries, and you’re in the mood for barbecue, you are more likely to find it offsite. If this sort of thing interests you, don’t be afraid to go off the beaten path and find food that you want, rather than what is there. A call to the customer service department at the casino can let you know what there is around them. You will usually find this sort of thing around the casinos that are set up alone geographically, such as the Native American reservation casinos that exist in many states, since these are usually smaller in size and cannot provide as many services as the large scale casinos can.
If there is a special event going on at the casino, such as a clambake or pig roast, these are usually advertised ahead of time, too. These are quite fun because of the fact that a lot of other people will also plan their visit around these events. You will meet people with similar interests, and you might even strike up a lasting friendship. These special dinners or buffets are usually really cheap, too, since they are geared toward getting people to the casino where they will spend money on their games. That’s one of the great things about going to a big casino city like Vegas or Atlantic City; the casinos know that the more they invest on entertaining you, the more likely you are to gamble.
Casino gambling, of course, is a lot of fun, but it’s even more fun when you win. Combine a winning strategy with great food, and you will have the time of your life–and all on a full, satisfied, stomach.
